With the mC-Connect Drawer cash drawer controller, businesses can modernize any cash drawer with USB, Ethernet, Wireless LAN, and Bluetooth® LE connectivity, enabling direct communication with today's POS systems, tablets, and mobile devices.
Somerset, NJ – May 13, 2026 – Star Micronics, a global leader in POS hardware solutions, today announced the launch of the mC-Connect Drawer (MCD10), a cash drawer controller that enables cash drawers with standard RJ-12 connectivity to communicate directly with POS systems, tablets, and mobile devices over USB, Ethernet, Wireless LAN, or Bluetooth® Low Energy.
As checkout expands beyond fixed stations, businesses are deploying mobile devices, tablets, kiosks, and flexible counter setups alongside traditional printer-based systems. The mC-Connect Drawer supports both approaches, making it suitable for fixed checkout, mobile POS, shared tills, self-service applications, and multi-lane retail and restaurant deployments.
Modern Connectivity for Flexible POS Setups
The mC-Connect Drawer turns compatible cash drawers into USB, Ethernet, Wireless LAN, or Bluetooth® Low Energy cash drawers. Businesses can select the connection that fits each deployment, whether the drawer is used with a traditional printer-driven lane, tablet POS, mobile checkout station, kiosk, pop-up location, or space-constrained counter.
With all four interfaces built into a single device, businesses can reduce the need for interface-specific hardware and standardize deployments across locations. The mC-Connect Drawer also supports shared till environments where multiple POS devices access the same cash drawer.
Built-in magnetic mounting allows the controller to be installed directly on or beside the cash drawer for a compact, organized setup. WPA3 wireless security and Bluetooth LE Secure Connections help protect communication between connected devices.
Supports New and Existing Cash Drawer Deployments
The mC-Connect Drawer is compatible with cash drawers that use standard RJ-12 connectors, allowing businesses to add modern connectivity to existing installations or specify it for new POS deployments. It can support up to four cash drawers, providing an additional option for multi-lane and shared POS configurations.
Consistent Operation in High-Use Environments
The mC-Connect Drawer monitors drive voltage and executes open commands only when sufficient power is available, helping prevent failed drawer opens. Commands are held until the device is ready, supporting consistent operation during high-volume retail and restaurant transactions.
Status monitoring allows POS applications to track drawer activity and initiate cashier workflows, security alerts, or other connected-system actions based on cash drawer events.
Software Support for Setup and Integration
Star Quick Setup Utility and Star Windows Software provide tools for setup, configuration, connection testing, and Wireless LAN troubleshooting. StarXpand SDK provides APIs for integration with iOS, Android, and React Native POS applications.
Bluetooth-assisted Wireless LAN setup helps technicians configure devices in place, including installations beneath counters. Existing Star LAN integrations can often migrate by changing the connection target to the mC-Connect Drawer.
The mC-Connect Drawer is available through Star Micronics’ authorized distribution partners. For more information, visit starmicronics.com or contact your Star Micronics representative.
