California’s Proposition 65 (Prop 65) has recently updated its regulations, requiring products containing Bisphenol S (BPS) to include proper warning labels before being sold in California. To ensure compliance and avoid potential issues, Star Micronics has issued an important letter to value-added resellers (VARs) outlining the situation and what steps need to be taken.
Key Takeaways
- Transition to Prop 65-Compliant Paper: Star strongly encourages VARs to update their paper lineup with compliant products to simplify operations and remain within regulatory guidelines.
- Label Non-Compliant Inventory: Ensure any products containing BPS in your current inventory are correctly labeled if sold in California.
- Educate Yourself on Prop 65 Laws: Carefully review the letter for detailed guidance and familiarize yourself with Prop 65 requirements to stay informed.
What Does This Mean for Your Business?
Many paper and label products currently in use may contain BPS. To avoid compliance issues, Star Micronics strongly encourages transitioning your paper inventory to our Prop 65-compliant Star Blue Eco paper. This sustainable option is designed to meet California’s standards while supporting environmentally conscious business practices.
