How to change Emulation of SK1-211/SK1-311 from StarPRNT to ESC/POS & viceversa

Introduction:

This Application Note explains how to change the emulation from StarPRNT to ESC/POS or ESC/POS to StarPRNT on the SK1- 311 and SK1-211 kiosk printers.

Supported Environments: N/A

 

Changing Emulation Between StarPRNT and ESC/POS

Method 1: Operation Method

1) Power printer [OFF] and open the paper cover

2) Power the printer [ON] while simultaneously pressing and holding the [Select] and [FEED] buttons

3) The power light will flash red, turn off, and turn back on. The color of the light after it turns back on indicates the emulation.

      Green = StarPRNT emulation
      Red     = ESC/POS emulation

4) Release both [FEED] and [Select] buttons and the printer will initialize using the emulation selected in step 2.

5) Print a self-test to verify the emulation.

Congratulations! You have successfully changed the emulation of your SK1-311 or SK1-211.

 

Method 2: Function setting mode

1) With paper loaded, power the printer [ON] while simultaneously pressing and holding the [Select] and [FEED] buttons.               Release buttons when printing begins.

2) The current emulation setting will print, with options for changing or keeping the current emulation.

3) Press [Select] to change emulation or [FEED} to keep the current selection.

4) After changing the emulation, the new emulation mode will print.

5) Press [FEED] to save or [Select] to change.

6) The printer’s memory switch settings will print, asking if you wish to change any. Press [Select] to exit and save the new emulation change.

Congratulations! You have successfully changed the emulation of your SK1-311 or SK1-211.
