How do I disable USB power off (sleep) mode for my USB printer?
The PDF linked below contains information on disabling USB Power Off mode. This issue is not specific to Star Micronics Printers, as many other printer models have experienced the same symptoms. This procedure enables you to disable “power save” on USB ports. It cannot be determined whether or not the problem occurs on every PC; however, by testing in real environments, we have discovered when sleep mode is enabled, the printer may go into hibernation/sleep mode (especially after an idle period).
The main symptom for this occurrence is when print jobs stay in queue until the PC is restarted or printer’s power is turned off and then back on.
