How to Configure USB-C Port for mCP31C & mCP31CB

This application note explains the steps on how to navigate through the different functionalities of the USB-C port available on the MCP31C/CB printer.

 

Supported Printers: mc-P31C, mc-P31CB

Supported Interfaces: All

Supported Environments: Android

 

StarPRNT Utility (Memory Switch)

Plug your device into the USB-C for Android devices.

Plug the printer into a power outlet.

 

Power ON the printer.

 

Download the mC-Print Utility App from the Google Play Store or Apple Store.

Open the mC-Print Utility app and connect your printer by clicking “Not Selected” blinking in red

Once the printer is connected, click on “Printer Settings”.

 

Click on “Memory Switch Settings”.

 

Under the [Others] tab, click on “USB-C Function” to change the port functionality as needed.

NOTE: There are three options available:

  • Power Supply Only; used to charge connected android device.
  • Power Supply + Data; used to charge connected android device as well as for data communication between the device and printer.
  • Data Only; used for data communication between android device and printer only.
