How to configure WiFi Power Pack on Mac Computer
Introduction
How to setup the WiFi Power Pack to use with Star Printers on Mac computer. Depending on the application, further installation of printer drivers may be needed.

WiFi Power Pack (TP-Link) Setup via WiFi
Connect the TP-Link’s USB to an AC power supply or USB port of a Windows/Mac computer. Next, connect the TP-Link’s Ethernet cable to the 100/10 Base port on the printer. The printer should be power off.
Confirm the TP-Link has a solid green or blue light.
Click on WiFi icon on the upper right corner of the screen.
Select Starwifi then wait for it to connect.
Open a web browser of your choosing.
Type 192.168.0.254 into the address bar and hit go.
It should prompt for authentication so please type the following:
User Name: admin
Password: admin
The TP-Link greeting screen will appear.
Click on Quick Setup in the menu on the left side.
Click on Next button.
Select Client (Client Mode) and click Next button.
Click on “Survey” button.
The AP List should appear. The SSID column lists the name of available networks. Find the network you wish to connect your printer to then click on Connect.
Enter the password to the network then click on Next button.
Click on Reboot button.
A screen will appear so click on OK button.
The TP-Link will restart.
Once completed, you will no longer be able to access the website (192.168.0.254)
Click on WiFi icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
Connect to your main network that you configure the WiFi Power to join previously.
Static IP Address through telnet
Perform a self-test page, by turning off the printer, holding the FEED button in the front then turning the printer back on. Hold the FEED button until the printer starts to print.
NOTE: For the SP700 hold the feed button until it beeps then release.
On the second page towards the bottom, the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway will appear. (Your numbers may be different.)
Open the Terminal.
Type telnet IP_Address (the IP Address from the bottom of the second printout).
The window will appear asking for login information. Please type the following:
Login: root
Password: public
Type 1 and press enter.
Type 1 and and press enter.
Type the IP Address from the self-test page and press enter. (You number may be different.)
Type 2 then press enter. Next, type the Subnet Mask from the bottom of the self-test page and press enter. (You numbers may be different).
Type 3 then press enter. Next, type the Default Gateway from the bottom of the self-test page and press enter. (You numbers may be different).
Type 99 then press enter.
Type 99 then press enter.
Type 98 then press enter.
Type 1 then press enter.
Should get a message similar to the one below:
The printer should have printed the printer’s static IP Address. (Your numbers should be the same as the numbers at the bottom of the second printout.)
Once the self-test page prints then turn the printer off.
Remove the USB cable from AC power supply, and plug it into DK-module. Then plug the DK- Module into the DK port on the back of the printer.
Congratulations, you have successfully setup your Star Micronics Printer with the WiFi Power Pack!
