How to manually assign an IP Address on TSP100IIIW with iOS and Android

This application note shows how to manually assign an IP Address on TSP100IIIW using an iOS or android device.

Connecting/Setting TSP100IIIW on iOS (iPad)
Note: If the printer firmware is 1.6 or higher an android device can be used. If it is lower, an IOS device is required. To check firmware, power on the printer while holding feed and let go when it starts to print. The firmware is at the top of the 1st page that prints.
- Check MAC Address of printer. This is accomplished by pressing the feed button while turning the power on. Let go of the feed button once it start to print.
Note: The SSID is “TSP100III-XXXXXX” (XXXXX indicated the last 6 digits of the Mac Address)
- Confirm the printer has a ready LED light of solid blue.
- On the iPad, and go to Settings.
- Select WiFi and turn ON.
- Select the device (E.G. TSP100IIIW-XXXXXX) from the device list displayed on the very bottom.
- A message will appear indicating that an Internet connection cannot be made is displayed, tap Join Anyways.
NOTE: When connecting to the printer you cannot connect to the Internet.
- The SSID is displayed when connected and a check is marked on the screen.
NOTE: It will take some time (about 1 minute) until the connection is confirmed.
- Open a browser (E.G. Safari) and type 192.168.10.1 into the address bar and the Web Configuration page will appear.
- Locate the main menu on the left side and click on Login.
If the main menu is not listed, then click on the menu bottom displayed on the upper left.
- It will prompt for authentication so please type the following and click on Log In: The default login and password:
- User Name: root
- Password: public
- The following message will be displayed when using the default password. So select OK to change the password or select cancel to not change the password.
NOTE: For security purposes, it is recommended to change the password when using the printer.
- On the menu displayed on the left side of the setting screen:
- Click on WLAN Settings
- Select Infrastructure Mode
Enter SSID, Security, and Security Key
- Click on Submit
- A screen where you can check and save the entered details will appear. Do Not Execute “Save” at this time and proceed to the next step.
- On the menu displayed on the left side of the setting screen:
- Click on IP Parameter
- Select Static
Enter IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway
- Click on Submit
- A screen where you click and save the entered details will appear.
- On the menu displayed on the left side of the setting screen:
- Click on Save
Select Save -> Configuration Printing -> Restart device
- Click on Execute
- When the printer setting is completed the printer will print out a self-test page. The connection is disconnected.
- Congratulations! You have successfully assigned an IP Address to the TSP100IIIW on iOS.
