Opening Cash Drawer on Mac
Plug the cash drawer to the back of the printer on the port labeled, DK, and turn the printer on.
Confirm that the printer is installed on your Mac by going to System Preferences then Printers & Scanners.
Open your favorite web browser and type “localhost:631” in the address bar.
When accessing the CUPS screen for the first time, the following message with appear. If this occurs, copy “cupsctl WebInterface=yes”. Otherwise, please proceed.
Search for the Terminal application and open it.
Paste this command and hit enter.
Return to the browser and reload the page. The CUPS settings will not be available.
Click on Printer.
Click on the printer’s name under Queue Name.
Click on the Administration dropdown menu and select Set Default Option.
Click on Cash Drawer Control.
Click on Cash Drawer dropdown menu, and select Cash Drawer 1.
Click on Set Default Options.
Type in user name and password for the administration account on the Mac and click OK.
Back on the main page, click on the Maintenance dropdown menu and select Print Test Page.
The cash drawer will open then print a CUPS test page.
