Install mC-Print series Bluetooth printer in Windows
Introduction
This Application Note will show you how to install an mC-Print series Bluetooth printer in Windows.
Supported Printers: mC-Print2, mC-Print3
Supported Interfaces: Bluetooth
Supported Environments: Windows 7 (32/64-bit), Windows 8 (32/64-bit), Windows 10 (32/64-bit)
Tools Needed: StarPRNT for mCollection Driver Utility for Windows
1. Knowing Your mC-Printer
1.1 mC-Print3
Operation Panel: This panel provides printer operation switches and printer status indicator LED lamps.
Paper Set: Set the paper in the direction as shown in the illustration
Accessing interface connections: Remove the rear cover to connect the AC adapter and the USB cable, Lighting cable, ethernet cable or the cash drawer cable.
1.2. mC-Print2
Operation Panel: This panel provides printer operation switches and printer status indicator LED lamps.
Paper Set: Set the paper in the direction as shown in the illustration
Accessing interface connections: Connections are located on the back of the printer: AC adapter, USB cable, Ethernet cable or the cash drawer cable.
2. Installation
2.1 Windows Driver Installation
2.1.1 Download the printer driver (StarPRNT for mCollection) from the Global Support Website
2.1.2 Extract/decompress the downloaded folder and run “setup.exe”
2.1.3 Follow the instructions of the setup wizard to complete the installation
2.2. Bluetooth Installation
2.2.1. Ensure the Bluetooth on your PC in ON and pair with the printer. To do so, click Start Settings Devices.
2.2.2 Check Bluetooth is ON and click “Add Bluetooth or Other Device” or select “Printers & Scanners” and click “Add A Printer or Scanner.”
2.2.3 Select the printer and click “Add Device”
2.2.3 When pairing is complete, in the search box next to Start on the taskbar, type control panel. Select Control Panel from the list of results, then click “View Devices and Printers” The name of the printer should display.
2.2.4 Right-click the printer, select “Properties” and open the “Hardware” tab.
2.2.5. Click the “Hardware” tab and locate the COM port number assigned by Windows.
2.3 Printer Utility mCollection:
2.3.1 To complete driver installation, the Printer Utility, must be set to use the appropriate COM port. Open the Windows taskbar and type “Printer Utility mCollection,” or go to “Start Star Micronics Printer Utility mCollection”
2.3.2 The “Printer Connection Wizard” should appear as you start the Printer Utility for the first time. Select mC-Print2 or mC-Print3 to math your existing printer series.
2.3.3 Click “Bluetooth” and select the COM Port assigned by Windows (step 2.2.4).
2.3.4 The list of all Utility Functions should now display. Please select “Windows Printer Queue Management” to install the printer.
Select the printer to be used and click “Set Default”. Then , click “Test Print” to confirm installation is complete and successful.
