Setup TSP100IIIW with WPS via Windows/iOS/Android

Introduction:

This application note explains how to setup the TSP100IIIW using WPS on a Windows, iOS, or Android.

NOTE for WPS: A standard for making easy connections between wireless networking devices. Depending on the manufacturer, buttons that have been displayed as “AOSS”, “Easy wireless start”, “JumpStart” etc. may also be handled equivalently to WPS. For details, refer to your device manual and such.

 

Supported Printers: TSP100IIIW

Supported Interfaces: Wireless

Supported Environments: Windows 10 (32bit/64bit), Windows 7(32bit/64bit), Windows 8 (32bit/64bit) Windows 8.1 (32bit/64bit), iOS, Android

 

Connecting/Setting by WPS via Windows

Turn the printer on and confirm the printer has a ready LED light of solid blue.

 

Press and hold the PAIR button, which can be found on the back of the printer, until the LED light (blue) starts to flash.

Press the WPS button of the access point or router.

When the printer connects to network, it will print the connection information page, and its LED light (blue) will change from flashing to solid.

The printer is now connected to network; please proceed to the next step.

 

Confirm the PC is connected to the network.

 

Having the Windows Printer driver already installed, open the Ethernet Setting Tool or LAN & Bluetooth Setup Tool

 

When the User Account Control is displayed, click on Yes.

 

Click on Discovery

 

From the destination device list,

Select the device to be connected

Click on Configuration

 

The web browser for TSP100III Network Utility will appear. Click on Login on the left side of the menu.

It will prompt for authentication so please type the following and click on Log In:

Note: The default login and password:

Username: root

Password: public

 

The following message will be displayed when using the default password. So select OK to change the password or select cancel to not change the password.

NOTE: For security purposes, it is recommended to change the password when using the printer.

 

On the menu displayed on the left side of the setting screen:

  • Click on IP Parameters
  • Select Static
  • Enter IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway

Click on Submit

 

A screen where you click and save the entered details will appear.

 

On the menu displayed on the left side of the setting screen:

  • Click on Save
  • Select Save -> Configuration Printing -> Restart device

Click on Execute

 

When the printer setting is completed the printer will print out a self-test page.

 

Congratulations! You have successfully installed the TSP100IIIW with WPS via Windows.

 

Connecting/Setting by WPS via iOS(iPad)

Turn the printer on and confirm the printer has a ready LED light of solid blue.

On the iPad, go to Settings.

 

Select WiFi, turn on and connect to your network.

Go to the App Store and download the TSP100III Utility.

Open the TSP100III Utility

 

Click on Unselected State

From the Select Device list, select the device you want to connect and then tap on Apply.

Click on Device Management.

The web browser for TSP100III Network Utility will appear. Click on Login on the left side of the menu.

 

If the main menu is not listed, then click on the menu bottom displayed on the upper left.

 

It will prompt for authentication so please type the following and click on Log In:

Note: The default login and password:

Username: root

Password: public

 

The following message will be displayed when using the default password. So, select OK to change the password or select cancel to not change the password.

Go to the App Store and download the TSP100III Utility.

Google Play Store changed my settings

 

Open the TSP100III Utility

 

Tap on Unselected State

 

From the Select Device list, select the device you want to connect and then tap on Apply.

 

Tap on Change Network Settings.

 

The web browser for TSP100III Network Utility will appear. Click on Login on the left side of the menu.
