Registration

The store must complete the application found HERE.

Pay the registration fee, with check or money order.

Mail the completed application to

Colorado Department of Agriculture

3125 Wyandot St.

Denver, CO 80211-8324

The licensing period runs from January 1st to December 31st.

Calibration

The new scale must be calibrated by a certified service company.

These companies need to be licensed by Colorado’s Office of Weights & Measures.

You can find a list of certified Device Service Providers HERE.

New In-Service Report must be completed and given to the Office of Weights & Measures.

*The New In-Service Report should be completed during the service providers visit.*

After the service company completes their visit and the State receives the completed application, an employee of the Weights & Measures office will come to inspect the scale.

Maintenance

Each year the certified scale will be inspected by an employee of the Weights & Measures department.

The business is responsible for ensuring that the scale remains properly calibrated.

It is recommended that a service company recalibrates the scale each year.

The inspection time frame runs from January 1st to December 31st.
