Registration
An Appointment Form should be completed and sent to the Office of Weights and Measures
This will make sure the state sends a local inspector to your business, the inspector can also complete calibration at an extra charge.
After calibration and sealing the inspector will complete a placed-in-service form and the business will be placed on an annual inspection list.
Calibration
A certified Service Company/Weighmaster will need to be contacted for proper installation and calibration.
Or the office of Weights & Measures can be contacted with an Appointment Form.
Calibration and Sealing can be completed during the same visit.
Maintenance
It is recommended to have a Service Company recalibrate the scale once a year.
This will help ensure that the scale is ready to be tested by the state during the random inspection.
Any scales that fail inspection will be fined.
