Calibration
Scale calibration needs to be completed by a certified Service Company
A complete list can be found HERE, by searching for “Retail Computing Scales” under Registration Type
After calibrating and installing the scale, the service company will complete a Placed-In-Service Report.
Maintenance
It is recommended to have the scale recalibrated once a year to ensure accuracy
At random an officer from Weights & Measures will visit to inspect the scale
If the scale fails inspection the business is subject to fine.
