Registration
A Call Sheet must be completed and returned to the Department of Weights & Measures.
You will need the following information to complete the form.
- Scale Type (computing)
- Make (Star Micronics)
- Capacity (depends on the scale)
After registration and service company calibration, an inspector from Weights & Measures will visit the store to complete inspection and seal the scale.
Calibration
The scale will need to be calibrated by a certified Service Company, a complete list can be found HERE.
The company has to be certified by the state of Nevada.
Maintenance
The scale should be maintained each year by a certified company.
An inspector from the Department of Weights and Measures will randomly visit to test the scale for accuracy.
A scale that fails the inspection is subject to fines.
