Registration
The first step as a new scale owner is completing the state’s application. See below for application links
- Online application (Application type is, Weights & Measures Devices, Fuel Pumps or Scales.)
- Written application
The License is only valid for 1 year from its issue date.
The store owner must complete a renewal form each year. Find the form links below.
- Online Renewal
- Written Renewal, Mailed to your registered address each year

Calibration
To get the mG-Scale properly calibrated a service company needs to be contacted.
The company must be licensed by the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Maintenance
The scale should be recalibrated every year to assure that it is weighing accurately.
You can calibrate the scale yourself with OIML Class F weights or,
You can contact a service company in your area.
*Note a state inspector will visit your store and test your scale.
If your scale fails inspection the store is subject to penalty.
