Recommendations
*Star recommends purchasing an OIML Class: F1 certified weight kit to correctly calibrate the mG-Scale.
Purchase individual weights or weight kits that will equal the maximum limit of your scale. See below for weighing increments and scale limits.

Calibrating at the maximum weight is recommended. Failure to calibrate with Maximum weight will cause the scale to display <UC> (Uncertain)
Calibration
Calibrate your scale by following the instructions provided in scale box. Keep them in a safe place for future use.
You can also get in contact with Virginia’s certified service agencies, click here to view the list.
If you would like to Calibrate yourself
- The state of Virginia uses the NIST handbook 44 as a reference for the acceptable tolerances on the scale
- You should also refer back to the calibration instructions included with your scale.
Inspection
It is recommended that you contact your weights and measures office.
The office will schedule an appointment for an inspector to visit your store.
The inspector will test the POS system, and seal/mark the scale upon passing the inspection.
Maintenance
It is important to perform routine maintenance on your scale, using the certified calibration weights mentioned above and the instruction sheet included in the scale box.
*Equipment that fails inspection may be fined or seized by the state.*
