If you’re experiencing an issue when printing from your software application, your Technical Support Representative may ask you to put your printer into Hex Dump Mode. Hex Dump is a very useful method to show all commands being sent to the printer, all converted into hexadecimal format. Your Star Micronics Technical Support Representative is able to analyze the commands to see exactly what the software is sending to the printer. The data transmitted to the printer will be checked for accuracy and the causes of errors can be more easily investigated. Ultimately, we will be able to determine if the issue lies in the software or with the printer.
