How to Configure mG-T Scales
Introduction
This application note provides instructions for configuring common settings on mG-T series Scales.
Supported Scales: mG-T12, mG-T30, mG-T60
Supported Interfaces: BLE (Bluetooth 5.0), Serial, USB
Before You Begin
After switching ON, allow 15 minutes for the weighing system and internal electronics to stabilize before taking measurements.
Before you begin, ensure the following quick checks are completed:
Quick Checks
- Place the scale on a flat, stable surface
- Make sure the pan is installed correctly
- Remove anything touching the weighing surface
- Keep the scale away from airflow or vibration
- Verify that the power connection is secure and the scale’s display is ON

Important! The scale requires software that has been specifically integrated to support it. Before using the scale, confirm that your POS system or software provider supports the mG-T Series and has integrated with it.
The scale supports the following features:
- Designed for general weighing applications.
- 15mm LCD display with white LED backlight.
- Standard RS232 (Serial) port for wired connectivity.
- USB-C port for communication and power.
- BLE (Bluetooth 5.0) connectivity for mobile devices such as tablets.
- Capacities:
- MG-T12: 12lb (5kg)
- MG-T30: 30lb (15kg)
- MG-T60: 60lb (30kg)
Leveling
- The scale includes a level indicator located beneath the weighing pan. Remove the pan to view the indicator.
- Adjust the leveling feet on the bottom of the scale until the bubble is centered in the indicator.

Scale Display and Keyboard


Power ON/OFF
Turn the Scale ON
1. Press the ON/OFF key.
2. Wait for the display to show the scale version.
3. Confirm the scale enters normal weighing mode.
4. Allow the scale to warm up for 15 minutes for stable measurements.
Turn the Scale OFF
1. Press the ON/OFF key.
2. Confirm the display turns off.
Tare Check
Tare weight is the weight of an empty container, package, or vehicle. Subtracting it from the total (gross) weight provides the net weight of the contents.
Tare a Container
1. Place the container or load on the platform.
2. Press the TARE key.
3. Confirm the display changes to zero.
4. Confirm the Net indicator appears.
5. Add the item to be weighed into the container.
6. Confirm the scale displays the net weight only.
Clear the Tare Value
1. Remove all weight from the platform.
2. Press the TARE key.
3. Confirm the display returns to zero.
4. Confirm the Net indicator disappears.
Zero-Point Adjustment
A zero-point adjustment resets the scale to zero when nothing is on the weighing pan, ensuring accurate weight measurements.
1. Make sure the weighing platform is empty.
2. Press the ZERO key.
3. Confirm the display returns to zero.
4. Confirm the Zero indicator appears on the display.
Auto Off
The auto off feature turns the scale off automatically after a period of inactivity to save power.
1. Press the TARE key during startup, which will display “F0 BL”.
2. Press the TARE key to select the menu until “F1 OFF” is displayed.
3. Press the ZERO key to confirm.
4. Press the TARE key to select from the available options:

6. Press the ZERO key to confirm and return to normal weighing mode.
Enabling/Disabling Bluetooth
1. Press the TARE key during startup, which will display “F0 BL”.
2. Press the TARE key until the display shows “F2 CON”.
3. Press the ZERO key to confirm; the display will show “BT”.
4. Press the ZERO key to enter the Bluetooth settings; display will show “CON1”.
5. Press the TARE key to select the appropriate setting.
6. Press the ZERO key to confirm.
7. Press the TARE key to select the “BACK” option.
8. Press the ZERO key to confirm and return to normal weighing mode.
9. The Bluetooth indicator appears when the scale is connected to an external device.
Backlight
The backlight feature illuminates the display so it is easier to read in low light or dark environments.
1. Press the TARE key during startup, which will display “F0 BL”.
2. Press the ZERO key to enter blacklight operation settings.
3. Press the TARE key to change the backlight setting from the available options:

4. Press the ZERO key to confirm.
5. Press the TARE key to select the “BACK” option.
6. Press the ZERO key to confirm and return to normal weighing mode.
