How to Add Graphics and Logos to Receipts Using futurePRNT
Introduction
This article provides instructions for using the futurePRNT Configuration Utility to customize Star TSP100 Series printer receipts with logos, coupons and watermarks.
Supported Printers: TSP100, TSP100ECO, TSP100III
Supported Interfaces: Bluetooth, Ethernet (LAN), USB, Wi-Fi
Supported Environments: Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7
Note: The TSP100IV Series does not use the futurePRNT driver.
Before you begin
Important! Adding graphics/logos requires two steps: 1) Add graphics to futurePRNT and 2) Assign a graphic as a logo, coupon, or watermark. These two separate steps are explained below.
Important! Ensure that the printer is installed, configured and working on the Windows device.
1. Add Graphics to futurePRNT
1. Click the Windows/Start Menu icon and open Configuration Utility TSP100. Allow it to make changes to your device.

2. Select Star Line Mode (default) Emulation and click “OK”.
Note: ESC/POS should only be used if your POS specifically dictates its use.

3. Select “Image List” in the left-hand menu.

4. Click “Add New”.

5. Browse to the location of the premade graphics. Select one to save in futurePRNT and click “Open”.
Note: Only .bmp, .jpg and .gif files can be selected.

6. The selected graphic appears in the below editor screen. These controls enable users to fine-tune an image before storing it in futurePRNT, with all changes being previewed in the top window as they are made. The customization components on this screen are described below:

Image ID Name – Enter a name for the graphic field to easily identify it within futurePRNT.
Width – Reduce the width of the graphic by sliding the scroll bar to the left or typing a number in the text field.

Dither Method – changes the dithering method by choosing one of the four options. These options modify the shading of the image.

Error Diffusion: Conversion Options – Modify the Black, White, and Transparency levels by sliding the scroll bar or entering a number in the text field. If creating a watermark for the receipt background, increase the Transparency setting until the image is light enough for the text to be easily read when printed on it.

7. Once the graphic looks satisfactory in the preview windows, click “Test Print” to check the actual printed quality.

8. If the image is satisfactory, click “Use Image” to store it within futurePRNT.

9. The graphic is stored in futurePRNT. It appears in the Image List.

10. Repeat the steps outlined above until all desired graphics have been modified and added in futurePRNT.

11. Click “Apply Changes”.

Congratulations! You have successfully stored your graphic in the futurePRNT software.
2. Assign a Graphic as a Logo, Coupon, or Watermark
1. Select “Logos & Cropping” in the left-hand menu. This screen assigns the print location of the stored graphics.

2. Click “Add” to assign a graphic in the desired location (E.G. Top Image List).
Top Image List – Graphic assigned here will print at the top of the receipt
Bottom Image List – Graphic assigned here will print at the bottom of the receipt
Merge List – Graphic assigned here prints behind the receipt text (E.G. Watermark)

3. Select the desired file in the list and choose its alignment, then click “Use”.

4. The image is added.
Note: In the below example, the Logo will print at the top of every receipt.

5. Repeat the steps above until all logo and coupon images are assigned.

6. In the case where multiple images are assigned to the top or bottom of the receipt, it is possible to choose printing one at a time or all at once.
Cycle – Prints one image per receipt in sequential order.
Print All – Prints every assigned image on every printed receipt.

7. To enable watermarking, go to the Merge Image section. Check “Include logos and coupons when merging” if the watermark should be visible through these graphics; if not, leave this box unchecked. Then, click “Select”.

8. Choose the desired graphic to use as the watermark and click “Use”.

9. After all graphics are assigned to the proper location, click “Apply Changes”.

10. Perform a Windows Test print to confirm the logos appear satisfactorily.
Note: The example below is without a watermark.

Congratulations! You have successfully enabled your stored graphics to print on receipts.
The “Lucky Shopper” Promotion
This example demonstrates how to run a marketing promotion using the “Cycle” feature in the Top or Bottom Image Lists. The “Lucky Shopper” promotion functions like a lottery by rotating multiple coupon graphics. In this case, three receipts display a 5% discount coupon, while the fourth displays a 20% discount. The ratio of lower-value to higher-value rewards is fully customizable. For example: 1 in 4, 1 in 20, or any frequency you choose.
1. Add the coupons in the “Image List” as described above.

2. In “Logo Printing and Cropping”, as detailed above, add the lower reward coupon for as many times as standard shoppers should receive it. Then, add the high reward coupon.

3. Ensure “Cycle” is selected for the coupons and click “Apply Changes”.

Now customers one, two and three will receive a 5% off coupon and every fourth will receive one for 20%.
The “Lucky Shopper” program is just one way futurePRNT enables cost‑free, personalized marketing for your business. Best of all, futurePRNT is included at no additional charge with every TSP100 Series printer (excluding the TSP100IV).
Congratulations! You have successfully created a Promotion with futurePRNT.
